Rocio's Art
These designs were created by my dear friend Rocio Amozurrutia, who passed away in 2015. She was born in Mexico City and her work was greatly influenced by her Mexican culture, the artwork of Mexico including everything from pre-Columbian art to the art and fashion of Frida Kahlo. She also embraced the art and mythology of many other cultures as well. Rocio and I together decided to call this collection of her work, mine and that of several other artist friends "ArtMythica." And the name was also inspired by the books of Joseph Campbell and his 1988 TV series "The Power of Myth."
